Myfanwy (Min) Hunter is Head of Senior Music at Girton Grammar in Bendigo. Her role encompasses Music Curriculum development from Year 7 to 12, teaching VCE Music Repertoire and Contemporary Performance, directing the Girton String Quartet, Christopher Field String Orchestra, and leading choirs.

Min’s work as an educator is grounded in a belief that high quality music education develops musical literacy, creative confidence, critical listening, performance skills, neurological development, social cohesion, and a lifelong engagement with music. Her teaching spans music performance, composition, aural and theoretical studies, music history, and contemporary approaches to music-making.

From 2007–2025, Min was Head of Music at Sophia Mundi Steiner & IB World School in Abbotsford, Melbourne. During this time, she led the development and implementation of an integrated P–12 music program encompassing Classroom, Instrumental, and Ensemble Music. She taught the Year 11 and 12 International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Music, mentored teachers, directed orchestras and choirs, and worked across Steiner, IB, and Australian Curriculum frameworks.

Her current work at Girton Grammar continues this commitment to developing thoughtful, creative and musically literate young people, while exploring new approaches to curriculum design, composition, performance, and music education.
